Below match schedule is for matches taking place at Durban's new Moses Mabhida Stadium. The stadium will be able to seat up to 70 000 soccer fans, the second largest in South Africa. The most prominent feature of the new stadium, built on the site of the existing football stadium, next to the existing Absa Stadium, home of the Sharks rugby team, is the 30-storey arch stretching its entire length. The Moses Mabhida Stadium also have an athletics track and underground parking for plus minus 10 000 cars and is scheduled to be completed in October 2009.
The stadium which took 32 months to build cost around three billion rand which is only three quarters than what Cape Town's Green Point stadium cost.
The stadium also sports some tourist attractions like a bungee swing from the arch accross the pitch, a sky car able to carry 25 people at a time to the arch's highest point and an adventure walk up the 550 steps to the southern side of the arch. It is fitted with white, orange, green and blue chairs and displays works of art inside the walls and it shows a picture of fallen hero, Moses Mabhida, on a outside wall. At 106 metres, the stadium's arch was higher than the US's Statue of Liberty, which was 93m high. There would be around 24 retail outlets inside the stadium.
Also set to be completed for the 2010 world cup is the King Shaka Airport at La Mercy and close to Umhlanga Rocks, an alternative to the Durban International Airport.

The FIFA World Cup 2010 will take place from 11 June 2010 to 11 July 2010. The South African school holidays from 10 June to 12 July has specially been chosen to enclose those dates.
None of the 2009 Confederations Cup matches will take place in Durban.
South Africa is to issue special "event visas" for soccer fans coming to the 2009 Fifa Confederations Cup and 2010 Fifa World Cup, enabling fans to use dedicated counters at major airports around the world for pre-clearance before they arrive in the country.
Accommodation availability, rates etc. for the FIFA World Cup period will be made available at a later stage.
The 2009 Fifa Confederations Cup will feature a tailor-made football with a Sesotho name and a striking design inspired by the artwork of Southern Africa's Ndebele people.
