About
Umgeni River Bird Park is situated in attractive natural surroundings, with a spectacular 20m high waterfall and lush vegetation. The park houses some of the worlds rarest birds such as macaws, parrots, Giatn Asian Hornbills, toucans, cranes, pheasants, flamingos and other indigenous birds in walk through aviaries and open paddocks. This little jewel is one of the finest bird parks in the world.

You can see how some of the rarest birds live and breed. A viewing window allows you to follow the activity in the baby room. You will see the stately cranes, the comical toucans and loads more.

The Free Flight bird show - unique in Africa, with critically endangered species like the Wattled Crane, as well as macaws, lories, owls, stork's vultures and hornbills. In free unrestricted flight, highly educational and loads of fun.

Umgeni River Bird Park breed many rare and endangered species at the park. Young chicks are fed hourly around the clock by dedicated staff, and you can watch this through a viewing window.
The awe-inspiring bird show presents magnificent birds in full flight directly above the audience. It captivates both young and old while teaching the importance of conservation.
